I think it's time I gave you a detailed description of my flip side world Royaume/Pègre. Royaume is simply Kingdom in French and Pègre is Underworld in French. I know, no imagination. But I have this phobia of making up a word that actually means something bad.
Here is a simple outline of a map. Anything without a name is an unpopulated island. Upopulated as in I haven't written a story about any characters living there, yet.
Here is an undetailed outline of Royaume. The unmarked islands are the ones that don't have a book about the characters living there yet.
Trendland and Misery.
Misery is an island so small that it is only one city. It is under the rule of Trendland. Misery Island or Misery City, whichever you want to call it, is where all the Trendland orphans are dumped. A few kidnapped children are mixed in as well. At age seventeen, the children are sold at the black market as slaves or something worse.
Trendland is a powerful island in the wizard's ocean. The king always has a wizard as his close adviser. When the king dies, the wizard chooses which one of the princes or princess that will be the next king or queen, then the new king or queen will choose a new wizard and the old one will leave Trendland. Wizards learn their magic from books. Rangers of Trendland are wizards that are born with their powers. Besides wizards and Rangers, Trendland is also occupied by faries and Elves.
Ice Palace and Flagrin.
Like Trendland, Flagrin has her own tiny island to accompany her. But unlike Trendland, Flagrin's tiny island belongs to one person. The Ice Palace Island is a tiny frozen solid island belonging to one of the small local rulers of Flagrin. When his neighbors attack him for no reason (it's just what they do on Flagrin) the ruler will send his family to safety on the Ice Palace island. They will stay there in safety, unless of course they are betrayed and kidnapped, like it happened in "Forgivness in the Far North."
Flagrin, is the home the raiders of Royaume. Think Viking or if you are a Brotherband fan, think Skandian. At age fourteen Flagrinite boys are trained in Shipbrother training, where they will have four years of hard training, and they will learn to become a Flagrinite Raider. Of course if you are still in your first year, but are eager to run away and prove to your family that you are really grownup enough to raid, you can just mooch off peoples natural fear of raiders and just help yourself to loot while they run to hide. That happened in "The Disappearance."
The Naturite Islands.
Five small Islands to the East of Flagrin. These islands are all connected to Flagrin by an underground tunnel. Two islands are peopled by Naturites. People who give themselves weird plant or animal names. Depending which Island you are on. One Island is peopled by cannibalistic Island Eaters, and the other two are deserted.
Pirate Islands.
Like the Naturite Islands, the Pirate Islands are connected by tunnels, but there are only four islands. Who do you think lives on these rocky cavernous Islands? The name doesn't tell you or anything. Just hope you don't get stuck in one of the cave prisons.
The King's Retreat.
This is technically part of the Mainland, but I thought you might all want to know where the Prince Diaries take place. Also, haven't any of you ever wondered why there are so many different kings so close together? Well, here is your answer. This is the Kings Retreat. They all come here for vacation and stay in there summer castles.
The Mainland.
This is the biggest Island in Royaume. Up at the top seperated from the rest of the land by a channel is the Kings Retreat. In the corner is Lakes. There is like five Lakes there. The little mushroom bubble is the Blood mines. I haven't actually decided who or what else lives here.
Nimrode, part of a large island (That I drew bigger then the mainland, but it's actually smaller).
Nimrode is the home to the stereotype Rangers. Think Ranger's Apprentice. The most famous city in Nimrode is Ocean City. It's built partly in the water. Think Laketown.
Bram.
Bram is separated from Nimrode by a Mountain range. I am currently working on a story that takes place in Bram. Or rather the main character goes there. But so far I haven't had any stories actually take place here. So other then it is the home to the evil Therone, and Princess Jensa went to school there until her father discovered Therone's treachery, I really don't know what this place is like.
Alister.
Alister is ruled by a highking, and has two fiefs, Vengard and Nort. One is ruled by a Baron and the other by a Prince. The people of Alister are the most civilized of all the people in Royaume.
The Black Land.
The Black Land is an odd place. When Winn wins the Sword of Fire from the King and Danjal the first steals the sword of Light, the Black Land literally became a place of ash and misery. The people were hated and feared. But actually they weren't really that bad. Princess Emiline restores the Sword of Light at sixteen, at seventeen she is crowned and at eighteen brings the Sword of Fire back. So thus is light and fire returned to the Firelands, which is the real name of the Black Land.
Nodymiun.
Like the Black Land, people believe that Nodymiun is an evil place. Nodymiun is another magical kingdom. It is half desert and half ice. And it is the home of the for Crawlkins/shapeshifters. The Crawlkins of the air, Crawlkins of the Mountains, Crawlkins of the Marshes, and Crawlkins of the Sea. The Crawlkins had Nodymiun first, but then the humans came and imprisoned them, making them slaves, except for the Mountain Crawlkins, who turned their mountains invisible.
The Seven Kingdoms, Mindo and Misgard are surrounded by the Alabaster Mountain range.
The Seven Kingdoms are seven small Kingdoms all with their separate rulers but all will answer to the supreme High King in time of deep troubles. Mindo is a tiny Kingdom packed between a few mountains. No one even realizes it is there.
Mindo. Once the Mindonites lived under the Alabaster Rock, but then Non So carved the Seven Kingdoms out of the Rock and the Mindonites were forced to pack themselves into the tiny crevice of Mindo.
Misgard, like Mindo is packed between the mountains, but is the size of one of the Seven Kingdoms, and is filled with magic. Both the tree of life and the Fountain of Youth are located in Misgard. The people there basically live forever.
Iske.
Iske is a solid desert. There are seven major cities and seven major daggers in Iske. In the center of this desert is located the Dimond Mines also Known as the Baba caves. Think Ali Baba and the 40 thieves. I haven't written that retelling yet.
From left to right: Harnivor, Corkin, Heston.
Harnivor is a magic country. That's all I know about it, except they have dangerous Mines and one nasty river. I'll let Erik describe it for you.
Corkin is the home of the Dragon Slayers. Corkin means dragon and Corkilin means Dragon-Slayer. Well actually there is a complicated story behind it and they are really just random names. Arthur Longsword taught Sebastian Reinhart that Corkin meant Dragon and Corkilin meant Dragon-Slayer, so when Sebastian killed his first dragon he changed his name to Corkilin. After that it just got awkward for him, and Arthur thought it was funny. But at least Sebastian and his decedents lived up to the title Dragon-Slayer. Robert Corkilin had the most famous kill, as he was the only one to kill a Pendragon.
Heston is boring. There is a black forest, and the people from Corkin relocated there after the dragons kicked them out. All the people there are mean to Robert, so he gives them a dragon head.
The Twin Islands, with the tiny Cornbridge Island village wedged between them.
Up in the Corner of the left twin island is Camlot. Yep, home to King Arthur, the overlord of all Royaume. Cornbridge is where King Arthur grew up along with the Lancelot siblings, James and Gwen.
And so these are all the islands I have inhabited so far. As soon as a certain person gives me her book certificate I can start mapping out Pègre, the other side of Royaume.

Before
I forget, I better mention that we, Kern and I were from the magical
land of Hanivor. What is magical about it? I haven't the slightest
notion, at least I didn't back then. But apparently Harnivor was
magical, I mean...........I guess I don't know what I mean.
