The Prince Charming Diaries, vol 2

Hey everyone, so I finished all the first Prince Charming Diaries. I'm currently still working on a bonus story for the version which I plan to self publish (more on that another time). Anyway, I decided to go ahead and plan out volume 2. I came up with a bunch of fairy tales, now I just need to decide which ones to use, and which one to wait until the possible volume 3. It would be great if all of you would vote on six, in order from your favorite choice to your least favorite choice. Also, I would appreciate suggestions, if you know of a good fairy tale that I should use. :) It would also be awesome if you all voted on a letter of the alphabet as well. Last time all the brother's names started with J. This want them all to start with the same letter again. :D

1 Puss's story (Puss in Boots)

2 Kai's story (Snow Queen)

3 A King's story (Rumpelstiltskin)

4 The Deer's story (Brother and sister)

5 The Hunter's story (Little Red Riding Hood)

6 The Tailor's story (Brave Little Tailor)

7 Hans' story (Clever Hans)

8 Bluebeard/or his wife's brother's story (Bluebeard)

9 The Owner's story (The Flying Trunk)

10 Gluck's story (The King of the Golden River)

11 Ivan's story (The Frog Princess)

12 The Prince's story (The Swinherd)

Added

13 Jack's story (Jack and the Beanstalk)

14 Aladdin's story (Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp)

15 Prince's story (Little Mermaid (Following the ORIGINAL story)

2. Justin's story (Sleeping Beauty)
3. Jadan's story (The Frog Prince)

Character of the Week

This week's character is one of my really old characters. The book he was in was one of the first books I ever wrote. There are actually three different versions of the book.

Arthur
He appears in "The Red Lion" (Versions 1 and 2) and in "The Red Lion; The King's Assassin."

This is the only drawing I have of him.

Name: Arthur
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Dark blue with silver flecks
Age in the first book: fourteen
Age in the Last Book: fifteen
Books: "The Red Lion," "The Red Lion; The King's Assassin," "The Alliance
Genre: Fantasy and sci-fi
Favorite Color: blue
Skills: Sword fighting on crutches
Personality: INFJ
Status in story: Brother of the hero, Page to his father.
Siblings: Emith and Philomena (1st version) Ecclesio and Philomena (2nd version) Ecclesio and Ecclesia (3rd version)
Parents: Foremost knight in the kingdom, Half Crawlkin (Names are different the different versions)
First book he was ever in: "The Red Lion" (Version one)
First time she was mentioned
The man claimed that his wife was Eomer's older sister Eponine. He recognized the older one of the children that Amarth said was his, as his youngest son Arthur. The girl was one of the twins her name was Philimena. Hastily I went to Gandalf, but the only people he knew that were lost were his son and two daughters. And they were lost before the fire at Stone Henge.
~The Red Lion version 1

Defendo is outside finishing up a lesson with- oh what is that boy's name? The blond one that uses a crutch.” she asked.
Arthur.” Ecclesio said helpfully.
Is that Etsiam's son?” Precantes asked with a frown.
Yes, sir.” Solisima said as she pulled out a chair for her visitor, “He brought his sister again! The poor lamb. Shall I get you a drink or anything to eat?”

No thank you!” Precantes said as he shook his head.
~The Red Lion version 2

I could have written the first time he actually appeared in a book, but there wasn't enough of the King's Assassin typed onto the computer for me to find that part.

Movie book tag

Micaiah @ Notebooks and Novels created this tag not too long ago. As she had left it open for other people to take, I decided to help myself.

Thank the person that tagged you and link back to the original creator (Micaiah @ Notebooks and Novels).
Answer all eight questions.
Tag at least two other bloggers.

And now, to the questions!

1. Books or movies, which are better?
I like books better. I usually read them first before I watch the movie. But two movies I did like better.

"The Princess Bride,"

and

"Going Postal."

2. What book needs to be made into a movie RIGHT NOW?

"The Ranger's Apprentice," by John Flanagan. I have been hearing they are making a movie for so long now.

"The Brotherband Chronicles," by John Flanagan.

"Outlaws of Ravenhurst." by Sister M. Imelda Wallace

"The Homelanders" by Andrew Lavan (It's actually four books)

and lots of others too.

3. What movie adaption of a book has disappointed you the most?
I usually go in expecting the movie to be different, so I'm not big on comparing them. But every time I watch this movie I will complain about this. I loved Duncan in the book, but hated him in the movie. They killed the wrong girl. They put romance between the wrong characters. It's a pretty good movie, although violent. But I'm still mad about Duncan. I can't really compare the book and movie though. I only read the abridged version.

Don't get me wrong, I love this movie, but I was so mad that they took out the scouring of the Shire. I waited so long to watch that bit, that I was really upset when they didn't put it in.

Well those are the only movies I will usually rant about the changes in it. Well, there was this one "Hound of the Baskerville" movie too, but I won't go into detail. I will also rant a bit about "Prince Caspian."

4. What movie adaption of a book has made you throw confetti and walk away extremely happy?
Well, I'm not sure. Probably either "The Fellowship of the Ring," or

"The Lion and the Witch and the Wardrobe." or

"The Adventures of Tintin"

5. What movie adaption of a book have you seen, but never read the book it's based on?
"True Grit." I don't remember who wrote it.

6. What book have you read, but never seen the movie adaption of?
Nancy Drew. This version looks really wrong. Why can't they get her hair right?

7. If your WIP was turned into a movie, who would play the main character(s)?
Wow, this is difficult. Let me see, what is my most current work in progress. I guess I have to many, so I'll do the ones I actually have an idea for. Unfortunately all the people that look right that I know of are too old now.

Emiline Migaroo- Sophia Myles (If you would have to knock off 21 years )- Queen of the Black Land

Jadan- Tom Hiddleston- Prince Charming Diaries

Elise- Magdalena Mieclcarz- (If you knock off more then twenty years)- Prince Charming Diaries

Elinta- Anna Popplewel- (You would only have to knock off about ten years now)- Queen of the Black Land

Benjamin Raswel- James Anthony Pearson- (Knock off about twelve years)- Adventures of a Pirate

James Raswel- Aidan Turner (Knock off ten years)- Adventures of a Pirate

Of course Ben Barnes could always place Blackjack, I suppose Aidan Turner could too. James and Blackjack were supposed to look similar anyway- Adventures of a Pirate.

I can't really think of anyone else.

8. When the credits roll after the movie adaption of the WIP you discussed above, what song will be playing?
Well this is another difficult one.

Well at the very end of all the "Adventures of a Pirate" This is Home from "Prince Caspian" is fitting. The lyrics fit, although I don't really care much for the tune.

Of course this song goes with "Sword of Camelot" even though there are no lyrics.

This one goes with "The Black Horizon" and again, it's not an end credit song.

I guess I don't really have any other at the moment.

I guess that was all the questions. I don't really know who I can tag, since I don't really know many other writing bloggers. Eve @ the bookwromfroghuntinghomschooler since I know she has started at least one story. And Katherine Catherine @ The Rebelling Muse even though I know she already did this. I actually stole the tag from her. :D I also privately tag Emma @ A Rambling Soul.

Short story clip.

I never really wrote this out completely. It could have a lot more added to it. But I have so many Bane stories that I thought it might be high time I posted one. But the moral of the story is pretty much don't let your criminal teenage younger brother to babysit your baby.

Prompt: what does sunshine taste like?

The Babysitting Crook

“Agie, you can't leave me with that little horror!” Bane screeched, his eyes bulging. Agnes Wolershim stared at her younger brother, a frosty look in her eyes.
“If anyone is a little horror it is you!” she said coldly, “Now I expect this place to be all nice and tidy when I returned. You can watch a bit of television when Willy is asleep, but keep the noise down. When he wakes, don't forget to get him a snack and take him to the bathroom.” Bane made a face. His sister looked down her nose at him and frowned.
“Anythin' else?” Bane asked sullenly.
“Yeah, no friends over!” Agnes snapped.
“But Agi!” Bane whined, “Are ya tryin' to kill me?”
“A little real work won't kill you!” Agnes replied as she grabbed her purse.
“But I got a meetin' an' I do a lot of real work!” Ban yelled after her, “You're not my boss!”
“Remember to keep Willy entertained if you wake him up!” Agnes said in a more cheerful voice as she disappeared out the front door. Bane clapped a hand over his mouth and glanced at the sleeping form of his nephew in the playpen.
“Don't you dare wake up!” he whispered in a threatening voices. Almost as if Will could hear him and was planning on being contradictory, Willy opened his brown eyes wide and yawned.
“Bay, me needs mama.” he called. Bane backed away.
“Listen you little monster, just go back to sleep and stay sleeping until your mama gets home, then Bane'll buy you a great big ice cream cone!”
“Willy wants ice cweem now!” Willy said as he sat up and pulled himself to a standing position. Bane realized to late, that bringing up ice cream was really a bad idea.
“Well, Willy can't haf da ithe cweam until unca Bane thayth otha wyth!” Bane sneered.

“Ahem!” someone coughed. Bane froze, then turned around slowly. A tall broad shouldered young man with masses of wavy blond hair, and a younger boy with slick black hair, and a pale face were standing in the door staring at him. Bane licked his lips and gave a pained smile.
“How come you guys never knock?” he asked weakly.
“How come you were talking like a baby?” the boy asked.
“Yeah, why?” the man echoed. Bane stood up slowly, and wiped some perspiration off his face.
“What are you guys doing here?” he asked weakly. The two newcomers exchanged looks.
“We have work this afternoon.” the man said mildly.
“Henson, it's canceled!” Bane shrieked in an undignified high pitched voice.
“To late, the guys are already picking up the expert.” Henson said calmly.
“Yeah, so ditch the babe and come on.” the dark haired boy added.
“Marty, he's my nephew!” Bane moaned.
“So take him with us or leave him!” Marty said.
“But...” Bane began. Marty and Henson turned towards the door.
“Wut a ooty bity darlin' you is?” Marty said suddenly. Henson started to laugh. Bane's eyes narrowed.

Once they were gone, Bane turned towards his nephew with thoughts of murder in his mind. The toddler grabbed the side of his crib and started bouncing up and down.
“What does sunshine taste like, unca Bane?” he asked seriously.

“Your eyes fried on a skillet along with your tongue!” Bane snarled, “Now shut up, while I go wreck you mom's car.”

I meant to post this before I left for DC but I forgot and left it sitting in drafts.

She appears in most of  "The Prince Charming Diaries" and in "The Diary of a Princess Bride."

I entered the secret sitting room and studied the family painting. My father, mother, my five brothers and one sister. I wanted to tare the picture to shreds but instead I just covered it again. My family is as selfish as I am. Caring only for their own pleasures. Whether clothes, dancing, bugs, hunting, or doing nothing.
~A Prince Charming Diary

First time she actually appears in the book:
What am I supposed to to do?” Justin asked with a shrug.
Say I do!” James yelled. His wife, that merchant's daughter, hit him! Quite satisfying.
Joseph!” mother screech, nearly bursting my eardrums.
I do!” Justin yelled.
Mama, Joseph is ruining the wedding!” tattle tale Elise screeches.
Joseph, stop!” Jaden yells, “Get this mutt off your new sister-in-law!”
I think she looks good with mutt prints on her!” Brateroo Elaine says. I have to agree with her.

Trip to DC part one

I mentioned earlier in the Christmas post here that Galadriel and I were going to the March for Life in Washington DC as a Christmas present from our parents. Well, we went. It was awesome. Both of us took a bunch of pictures. I can't post all the pictures at once as there are to many, so I'll start with the first two days.

DC part One

Our mom drove us down to Chicago on the 17th as our flight was at 8 in the morning on the 18th. The drive was around 2 and a half hours. We would of had to get up super early. I didn't get any pictures of the hotel. They had an exercise room there, with TV screens on the exercise equipment. It thought it was weird. We spent a long time watching Guy's Grocery Games on TV. It was a cooking contest show and very odd. It reminded me of the cooking contest at the girls' camp.

We let our mom behind at security in O'Hare and worked our way to number C20. I was very worried that we were at the wrong spot and kept checking my ticket to make sure it was the right flight number.

We had a long wait, and I took a picture of the view on both sides of me.

This is what I could see out the window.

This was at the other end of the window, that's where our plane is going to park.

A view from the air. My first plane trip. It was weird.

Galdriel took this picture. I must say the wing gave me the creeps. You could see little flaps lift up on it, and see right through it. It looked like it was falling apart.

Our complementary snack was called stroopwafel. It was tasty.

We made it out of Dulles airport easily. This is my first real view of Virginia.

 Waiting for our uncle.

We made it to Uncle R and Aunt N's house. We didn't do much that day. Here we're saying our Rosary before bed.

The following day we rode into DC for the March. My first view of the Washington monument. I took lots of pictures of it.

 It was a beautiful day.

 The traffic was terrible.

The monument again.

That might be the White house. I didn't think I took a picture of it, but I guess I did.

This is the museum of African History or something like that. We didn't go into it.

People everywhere.

 One of the Smithsonian buildings.

I wasn't sure if that was a Smithsonian or not but it looked like one of the buildings from Night and the Museum 2.

Lots and lots of buses.

The buses blocked a lot of the view.

I can't remember why I took this picture. The thing was neater if you could see the whole thing.

I tried to get a picture of this really weird thing, but the picture didn't take until the bus was blocking part of the view.

If you look carefully you can see a Monk in this picture. He looked like a Dominican.

He reached the other side of the street.

Not sure what that weird art is in front of this Smithsonian.

I don't remember what this picture was for.

 The building was odd.

 The Capitol.

 Not sure what this was.

The Marching 100 marching band. They were loud.

National Mall I think, the sun makes it hard to tell. I didn't know the Smithsonian museums and monuments were called the National Mall.

The March! I have never seen so many people in one spot!

I wish I got a picture from the other side of this banner.

The Capitol and one of the wailing signs as Galadriel called them. The signs showed descriptive pictures of aborted babies. One of them had a soundtrack of a wailing baby playing.

TFP in the background. You can see a lion on one of their red banners.

I think I heard someone say that was an EWTN person recording the march.

Approaching TFP, who stood on the side for part of the march.

I like this picture.

I didn't get a good picture of TFP up close or their Fatima statue. I was afraid if I got to far from my Aunt and Uncle I wouldn't find them.

My first view of the Supreme Court. I could have lived without seeing it.

In my senior year of highschool I had to write a paper on why the Supreme Court was wrong in the Roe v. Wade case.

Walking on the back lawn of the Capitol to get back to the parking garage.

Galdriel on the right. Uncle R with cousin S. TFP banners in the background.

There is nothing like snagging a picture of someone else taking a picture. I was actually taking a picture of TFP not Galdriel.

While walking back to the garage, we passed this procession of police. They had been standing along the road during the March.

Uncle R and Aunt N's house. I took it while waiting to drive back to DC the day following the March for Life.

This building was neat it reminded me of the movie Inception. It was really the Eisenhower Executive building.

On the same Street as the White House, there was a Hockey game going on.

 Approaching the White House.

The White House. The building in front of it, is a guard house of some kind.

 The sun was to bright.
My thought on Presidency: It must be the most depressing job in the world.

We sat outside the Museum of American History while we ate lunch. The Line through security was pretty long.

More of the National Mall.

Inside the Museum of American History.
I couldn't not take a picture of the writing desk.
Phone, blotter, inkwells and I think there is a pen on there.

Cannon from the SS Philadelphia. My picture of the entire boat seems to have deleted itself.

 Modal boat.

 I liked this uniform.

I took this because I wasn't sure if we were going to get to see the real thing. We planned to go that day, but the women's march were having their rally there. Believe me, I had no wish to go to that. The pink hatters were spoiling the scenery with their foul mouthed posters and t-shirts.

"You're not stealing that are you?"

If you know what movie I'm referencing with these two pictures you get the prize.
Just kidding.

 Solar panel.

View from the second floor. Oh we saw the original American flag on the first floor but weren't allowed to take pictures.

 Someone's carriage.

First lady dresses.

I didn't like Mrs. Trump's dress so I cropped the picture.

Galdriel liked Mary Todd Lincoln's dress.

I liked this one and Hillary Clinton's dress. No I don't like her, but I liked her dress. I didn't take a picture of it though.

Well, I guessed George Washington. My dad said it really depends on who you ask.

 Chess Pippin!

 Doll houses Eleanor.

Outside of a doll house.

They had protest exhibit. Yep this was in the museum of American History.

This thing was super weird. It was like a giant smart phone. The size of a person. You stood on the purple circle and hovered your hands over the buttons. You could pick out a period costume then get your selfie put inside the costume. There were two of these right next to each other. One of them turned your head sideways.

To Be Continued....
