 Alexander Ralston. Ally. Son of the mentor.

 Annette Dalston. Ally. Daughter of the villain.

Clarence Watson. Ally. Son of the Captain of the "Black Swan." Cook and sailor on the "Silver Dawn." Ben's cousin.

 General John Dalston. Villain. A man who holds grudges for a long time.

 John Ralston. The mentor. Cheerful sailor. First mate on the "Black Horizon."

Thomas Raswel. Hero's brother.
